But until recently, it was not seen as "manly" to discuss topics such as erectile dysfunction, ejaculation problems, bladder problems, or depression. Men o
ften suffered in silence using a variety of coping mechanisms, most of which simply exacerbated the problems. All that has changed.

The Health Institute for Men was established by Dr Gillman to provide a comprehensive and quality health care service for men. From annual male health checks and weight management, through to sexual problems such as erection difficulties and ejaculation problems, this centre strives to deliver the best possible care. By situating the institute within a general medical centre, any embarrassment can be overcome as patients in the waiting room may be seeing any of the other medical services available such as skin cancer checks, General Practice appointments etc. Dr Gillman is also fully qualified to deal with any day to day General Practice issues that you may have. If you currently do not have a GP or are looking for a new GP, you are most welcome to attend the centre.
Most men are referred to the service by their GP, however a formal referral is not necessary. Please notify the receptionist that you wish to have a "Men's Health Appointment" so the correct booking can be arranged for you to see Dr Gillman. If you wish to see Dr Gillman for a General Practice appointment, please inform the reception staff of this.
The first consultation for a "Men's Health Appointment" will involve a thorough check with some tests and measurements performed. A form will be mailed out to you before your visit, with some questions about your medical, family and personal history. We ask that you complete this form and bring it with you, along with your referral letter if you have been given one by your Doctor, for the clinic visit. Medicare rebates apply for eligible patients. Further information on fees can be obtained from the reception staff. Please note that we run an "on time" appointment system. For more information on this, please click on the Contact HIM box below.
We are confident that you will find a high quality health care service at the Health Institute for Men and look forward to welcoming you.
